What Drives the Standard
The Magnolia Pit was built on values shaped by military service—discipline, accountability, and a genuine respect for the work. Those principles carry over into the kitchen and the way the business operates. Shreveport has a strong sense of community, and this restaurant is part of that fabric.
You'll find the same commitment in every plate, whether it's your first visit or your tenth. The focus isn't on shortcuts or trends—it's on doing the work right and standing behind what leaves the pit. That kind of dependability is what keeps people coming back.
Visit when you're ready for barbecue that's made with care and served with integrity.
The people who gave the 2 star reviews.. they seem to be a tad too picky like my kids. The atmosphere is great, the food is 9.5 out of 10, and I was served quickly with a smile. The quantity of the portions was awesome for the price, especially in this economy. So if your reading this if you are looking for a place to eat when searching barbeque like inside, try this place. Their collard greens are fire and their meat fantastic.

Oh man this place is good! I went with a small group for a special they had, Thor’s Hammer. It was a smoked beef shank with five sides and desert. The five of us ate a good amount and still had leftovers to take home. The food is a magical experience in and of itself but the staff also make it just a wonderful experience. The pork belly pinto beans are some of the best beans I’ve ever had in my life and the Mac n cheese is out of this world. I cannot wait to go back!

Loved the entrance … very unique and fun! Clerk is very friendly! Self service for silverware and condiments including drinks. The Pit Potato seems to be quite large, although we ordered the 3 meat combo with burnt ends dirty rice and Pit Baked Beans. Overall experience was very pleasant! Keep up the good work!!!!!
